Real life in Tinley Park
Commutes, Practices and Homework: Where Therapy Fits
Tinley Park families are busy. Teens at Andrew and Tinley Park High School balance classes, sports and jobs, while younger kids come up through Kirby 140, Community Consolidated District 146 and Summit Hill 161. Some parents start the day at the Oak Park Avenue or 80th Avenue Metra stations. Others spend it on I-80.
When life is this full, anxiety can hide in the cracks. A teen may seem tired instead of worried. A parent may notice their own racing thoughts only once the house finally goes quiet.
Morning, afternoon and evening appointments are available, so you can find a time that works. If a game runs late or the weather turns, you can switch to telehealth instead of canceling.

Choose your format
In Person, Online or a Mix of Both
In Person in New Lenox
Some people open up best face to face. We encourage coming in for the first session when you can, so you and your therapist can connect.
Telehealth From Home
Meet from home or any private space in Illinois. Find a quiet spot and use headphones if you can.
A Mix of Both
Come in when you can and log on when you can’t. Switching is easy, and you keep the same therapist either way.

“The best views come after the most challenging climbs.”
What to expect
Your First Month, Step by Step
Knowing what is coming makes it easier to plan around a busy calendar. Here is how the first few weeks usually go.
Before Your First Visit
We check your insurance benefits and send a welcome email with your intake forms. Finish them at least 48 hours before your appointment, on a phone, tablet or computer.
Your First Appointment
The initial assessment runs about an hour. Your therapist goes over confidentiality, answers your questions and gets to know you and your goals.
The Next Few Weeks
We ask new clients to meet weekly for at least the first three sessions. That steady start gives you and your therapist time to build a real connection.
After That, Together
Some people keep meeting weekly, and others move to every other week. Any change is a joint decision between you, your therapist and parents, when that applies.
For moms and dads
Anxiety Isn’t Just a Teen Thing
Parents carry a lot, and anxiety often runs in families. Taking care of your own mental health is one of the best things you can do for your kids.
Adult Counseling
Michelle and Danielle see adults for anxiety, depression, trauma and life changes, and Sidra is open to working with adults too.
EMDR Therapy
Michelle uses EMDR to help adults and teens work through memories and stress that talking alone can’t reach.
Family Sessions
When your therapist feels it is a good fit, some families meet together. Family sessions are offered case by case and are $150, the same as individual sessions.
