There is a lot of fear when going into counseling. It’s not easy to speak to a stranger about deeply personal issues and it is even worse if you feel that your parents are forcing you to come. Many times, I have found teens feel like they don’t really need counseling, yet after just a few sessions they change their minds and find it to be a great release of built up frustration. I always work towards letting each teen leave knowing that they showed tremendous strength just to come in and be so vulnerable.
