Small-town life

Wide-Open Spaces, and Sometimes Nowhere to Turn

Peotone is a small town with deep roots, from the historic Peotone Mill, built in 1872, to the Will County Fair at the Peotone fairgrounds. Students grow up together in Peotone Community Unit School District 207U, from Peotone Junior High to Peotone High School.

That closeness is a real strength. It can also make it hard for a teen to admit they’re struggling, and mental health care can feel far away when the nearest office is a drive up the road.

We want to make support easier to reach. Our office is in New Lenox, and we also offer secure telehealth to clients anywhere in Illinois.

Two ways to meet

Choose What Works for Your Family

At Our New Lenox Office

Come in to 100 Batson Court, Suite 206, and park right outside. We encourage coming in for the first session if you can, so you can meet your therapist face to face.

Telehealth From Home

Meet from a private space at home, anywhere in Illinois. No drive, no waiting room and the same therapist you’d see in person.

You can switch back and forth as your week changes, so bad weather or a long day doesn’t have to mean a missed session.

Telehealth tips

Getting the Most Out of a Telehealth Session

Telehealth works best with a little setup. Here’s how to make it feel as private and comfortable as an office visit.

Find a Private Spot

A bedroom with the door closed works well. Some teens feel more relaxed opening up in a familiar space.

Use Headphones

Headphones help keep the conversation private, especially in a busy house.

Log On a Few Minutes Early

Give yourself time to make sure your camera, microphone and internet connection are working.

Come In When It Helps

Some families like to mix in office visits now and then. Just let us know, and we’ll set it up.

Where to Find Us in New Lenox

Benefits Checked for You

As a courtesy, we check your benefits before your first appointment, so you know what to expect.

Private Pay

$200 for the first assessment and $150 per session, with a Superbill available if you want to use out-of-network benefits.

Peotone questions

What Peotone Families Want to Know

Many clients find telehealth works very well. You work with the same therapist using the same approaches, just from home. Some people open up more easily in their own space, while others like the office. You can try both.

We encourage it when possible, so you and your therapist can meet face to face. If the drive isn’t realistic, let us know and we will talk through your options.

It depends on the child. Many teens are comfortable with telehealth. Younger kids sometimes do better in person, where games and drawing are easier. We will talk through what fits your child.

Yes. We see families from Bourbonnais and other communities, many of them through telehealth, which works anywhere in Illinois. We also see families from nearby Manhattan and Frankfort.

If someone is in immediate danger, go to the nearest hospital emergency room. You can also call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, which is free, confidential and available 24 hours a day.

Fill out the form on this page or call (815) 409-5940. We’ll check your insurance, match you with a therapist and send intake forms to finish at least 48 hours before your first appointment.

More ways we can help

Other Ways We Help

Anxiety Therapy

Anxiety is the most common reason families come to us, and it’s the foundation of everything we do. Whether your teen is avoiding school, your young adult can’t stop overthinking, or worry has taken over your daily life, we can help. Our therapists use CBT and EMDR to help clients understand what’s driving their anxiety and build real tools to manage it.

Teen Anxiety Counseling

The teen years are when anxiety tends to hit the hardest. School pressure, social stress, comparison, and the weight of figuring out who they are can leave teens feeling overwhelmed and stuck. We work with teens to understand what’s behind the anxiety and give them real skills they can actually use, at school, at home, and in the moments that feel like too much.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of the most effective approaches available for anxiety, trauma, and overwhelming emotions. It works by helping the brain reprocess difficult memories and experiences that are keeping you stuck. Our EMDR-trained therapist works with teens, young adults, and adults.

Depression Therapy

Depression and anxiety often show up together. If your teen has lost interest in things they used to enjoy, is sleeping too much or too little, or seems hopeless about the future, therapy can help. We work with clients to find what’s underneath the depression and build a path forward that actually feels possible.

Trauma Counseling

Trauma is one of the most common drivers of anxiety in teenagers and young adults. It doesn’t always look like what you’d expect. It can show up as constant worry, anger, trouble concentrating, or emotional shutdown. Our therapists help clients work through trauma at their own pace, in a space where they feel safe.

Emotional Regulation

When anxiety runs high, emotions feel unmanageable. Some children, teens, and adults feel everything. Small frustrations become explosions. Sadness becomes despair. We help clients understand their patterns and develop strategies for handling intense feelings without shutting down or lashing out.

Relationship Counseling

Anxiety doesn’t just affect the person experiencing it. It changes how they show up in every relationship. We help teens, young adults, and adults work through the ways anxiety and other challenges are impacting their connections with family, friends, and partners.

Life Transitions

Starting high school. Leaving for college. A new job, a divorce, a move. Life transitions can trigger anxiety, depression, and self-doubt, even when the change is something you wanted. We help clients work through the uncertainty and build confidence in who they’re becoming.

Young Adult Counseling

The years between 18 and 30 come with a unique kind of pressure. A lot of young adults are dealing with anxiety they’ve carried since their teenage years but never had the chance to address. We help them get unstuck and start building a life that feels like theirs.

You don’t have to figure this out alone

If something told you to keep reading this far, trust that feeling. Whether it’s for yourself, your teen, or your young adult, the hardest part is deciding to start. We are here when you are ready.
